I have always been fascinated with history. I have also always been sensitive to the paranormal. Still, after my first major paranormal experience in Gettysburg, PA, during an 8th-grade field trip, I began to understand the importance of never forgetting the past. After that experience, I dove headlong into the world of all things spooky and weird. From stories of cryptids to keeping my ears open for stories of strange anomalies, I started to compile many things into my paranormal research. It was not until 2019 that I decided I wanted to share all of my wacky knowledge and learn more about new paranormal locations around the world. While opening yourself up to the world in the form of a podcast is scary, I am so glad I did. I have met so many wonderful people and explored some cool places. I also get to share my love for history and discuss the importance of it. With each episode, I get to bring people along with me for a historical tour with a paranormal twist.

While I acknowledge that many podcasters have a set schedule for their listeners, I cannot stick to this method for my podcast. I have Dyslexia and ADHD. Living with these learning differences is a challenge that varies from day to day, and it is stressful. To minimize my anxiety, I can’t set unrealistic expectations for myself because not meeting a goal or deadline is extremely hard on my mental health. So, I have to try my best to make this podcast feel like a fun hobby. Just because I do not have a set schedule does not mean I am not working hard on the next episode behind the scenes.

I am neurodivergent, so my brain works differently from others. Dyslexia and ADHD make it hard for me to work at the same speed as other content creators. I do everything alone for this podcast. I do all the research, script writing, recording, editing, and marketing for this show. As you can imagine, this is a lot of work for anyone, but due to my learning differences, things take me longer than others. It takes me a few weeks to create a script for each episode and then a week or two to record it. I also create short bonus episodes for my Patreons, so they are also a factor in my creation time.

Regardless of what people often ask me, YES, I graduated from school. Due to my learning difference, Dyslexia, it is hard for me to spell. While spell check is improving, it is not perfect, and I won’t be able to know if words are spelled wrong or not.
Dyslexia also affects the way I talk and read aloud. While I have improved over the years, I still struggle with names and reading my own scripts. I may also reverse numbers and get dates wrong on occasion, but I always correct this in the show notes.

According to the British Dyslexia Association: “Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty which primarily affects reading and writing skills. However, it does not only affect these skills. Dyslexia is actually about information processing. Dyslexic people may have difficulty processing and remembering information they see and hear, which can affect learning and the acquisition of literacy skills. Dyslexia can also impact on other areas, such as organizational skills.
It is important to remember that there are positives to thinking differently. Many dyslexic people show strengths in areas such as reasoning and in visual and creative fields.”

I have had a hard time keeping my episodes on YouTube due to many factors. My computer crashed in 2020, leaving me locked out of many accounts. By the time I had fixed the issues, YouTube was unlinked from my podcast host, and then when I tried to upload them myself, I got copyright strikes and other strange problems that they refused to help me out with. Because of this, I have not tried again. I plan on fixing this issue in the near future; however, I have a lot of archived episodes to post, so it will take time.
